This last Saturday was the annual PACCAR open house (a 242-acre test and development site for all PACCAR divisions including Kenworth, Peterbuilt, and DAF trucks. The tour highlights test labs and trucks manufactured by PACCAR), which is one of the many events encompassed by the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival (www.tulipfestival.org). It was a stunning weekened, weather wise, so naturally tons of people had the same idea we did of visiting the tulips and traffic was understandably thick. I was able to shoot pictures out of the car window because we were stopped so much.
Can you see those stripes of color in the distance?

We saw LOTS of farm machinery (but I forgot to take pictures of them)!
The boys were in HOG HEAVEN. :)

Owen was excited. He was almost as tall as the digger's tracks, but maybe not quite.
Even on Daddy's shoulders the digger looms over them!

On Sunday, my mom and I took the boys on another adventure. We took the bus downtown (the boys' first time on a city bus) and walked to Uwajimaya (a japanese grocery store, www.uwajimaya.com) to see a Taiko drum performance.

There is so much to see on a bus! The boys were really excited for their first ever city bus ride.

Sounds really fun! I grew up in Mount Vernon and most of my family is still there. We're going up next weekend for the street fair.
