Owen Turns 3

My profound apologies to Owen for neglecting to announce and celebrate his 3rd birthday (which was May 12) on the blog. Here are some pictures from the family party we had:

Owen is really into trucks and machines. He loves to watch Daddy mow the law and use the weed whacker. He's also really into cooking and kitchen gadgets. Mommy's Kitchenaid stand mixer is one of his favorite machines. Any house we go to, Owen's first question is "Where's the mixer and can I see it?" :) One of our favorite things to do is to go see the industrial kitchen at work in Costco (their mixers are HUGE). Owen is also fascinated with vacuum cleaners and carpet steam cleaners. Anytime we're at Target or Costco we HAVE to go visit the vacuum cleaners, we walk down the aisle and Owen asks about each one as I read him the name of each model. His favorite is Dyson (and I have to admit they do look the coolest), though he's never seen a Dyson in action. Another fun activity is going to Lowe's Home Improvement Store and sitting on the riding lawn mowers and tractors. Lowe's has great full-color pamphlets on grills, lawn mowers, pressure washers, weed whackers and edgers that we MUST pick up everytime we visit. Owen requests that we read him these pamphlets as bedtime stories (he takes after Bumpa Ben in this way). :)
